Fellowship Overview

The Jacquelyn Jestine Sanders Foundation is excited to announce the availability of the Water Infrastructure Design Research Fellowship. This fellowship is geared towards advancing our efforts in off-grid water infrastructure by building upon existing research and developing scalable modular designs for diverse site conditions.

Fellowship Responsibilities

The Water Infrastructure Design Research Fellow will be responsible for:

  1. Review and Build Upon Existing Research:
    • Reviewing existing fellowship research conducted by the Foundation.
    • Identifying areas for improvement and potential new directions for research.
  2. Development and Design Enhancement:
    • Enhancing the Foundation’s plans around key aspects of water infrastructure, including:
      • Water Storage: Developing efficient and scalable water storage solutions.
      • Water Pumping with Renewable Energy: Innovating pumping systems powered by renewable energy sources.
      • Construction of Wetlands: Designing and constructing functional wetlands for water management and purification.
      • Biological Filtration: Improving biological filtration systems for better water quality.
      • Membrane Filtration: Advancing membrane filtration technologies for enhanced water purification.
  3. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Documenting all research findings and design advancements.
    • Reporting progress and results in a clear and detailed manner.
    • Producing academic findings that expand the Foundation’s knowledge base in water infrastructure.
  4. Peer Review and Publication:
    • Preparing research outcomes for peer review.
    • Ensuring that findings are made part of the permanent Foundation records.
    • Contributing to the Sustainable Vision Academic Journal.

Fellowship Benefits

  • A modest stipend will be provided upon receipt of an acceptable End of Month Report.
  • Opportunity to publish findings and gain recognition in the Jacquelyn Jestine Sanders Foundation’s Sustainable Vision Academic Journal.
  • Contribution to the global body of knowledge on off-grid water infrastructure.

Fellowship Goals

  • To develop detailed and scalable variants of modular water infrastructure designs.
  • To provide valuable research and practical contributions to off-grid water solutions.
  • To support local and global efforts in sustainable water management.

Application Process
